Thank goodness it’s SUMMER!!! While I still – technically- have 2 days of work next week, summer has begun in the Roger Household.
I want to document our summer and get used to blogging- so it is the best of both worlds.
Summer- day 1: Dawn of the Blackberries (not the phone- the actual real blackberries)
This morning at an ungodly hour for summer activities- we woke up to go pick some blackberries with a couple friends. It was hard to crawl out of bed when it was still dark outside. Especially considering that we had stayed out late Thursday night for the movies in the park (Karate Kid). Now- since I usually DO NOT like to wake up before 10 on my summer vacation, I think this was a good way to start summer.
We went to South Howland Berry Farm and spent some time out there picking berries.
I was proud of my city slicker girls (and myself)! We did not scream once while picking the berries. Even though there were many spiders in their webs…ON the berries…yes..we didn’t scream…outwardly.
When the girls were done picking, they went to a monster truck of a tire swing. They had a blast!!
So- we started our summer with a new adventure we had never done- berry picking. We also got to hang out with some dear friends. There is more to tell..but ACK!! it is after 10 and I have homework to do and a yard sale to get up early for tomorrow.
Here’s to a great summer!
